After the Internet cafe and lunch we took a taxi out to the park entrance to the Fortuna Waterfall. The walk down into this waterfall valley was spectacular. The walkway wasn't anything to take for granted, especially with all the slippery rocks and uneven brick laying. But it was so beautiful. It was hard to pay attention to where you were walking when the view was so special. When we got down to the pool where the water was crashing from above, we stripped down to our bathing suits and got in the very cold water. The power of the waterfall was incredible, and such that I could not get far away from the edge. It just pushed me back to the rocky edge. Apryl was too nervous to go out in the main pool, but joined me in going in the more calm pool of water down the river some. There were fish swimming in this pool and a sandy rather than rocky bottom. Imagine being surrounded by a tropical forest while it is raining and swimming in a cold pool! A beautiful experience!
After this we returned to our room, rested some and then joined the hotel in a BBQ. They had karaoke for the guests and guess who got into the karaoke spirit?!?! Yes, Apryl. If I can find a way to upload the film, I will. Otherwise, here are a small selection of pictures from our walk to the waterfall. Most of our pictures were taken on a waterproof camera and won't be developed until we return, so once again you will have to wait for some of our special pictures!
