Iguanas and Colibri
I think the craziest thing about returning to Costa Rica has been to realize my kids, those students who were my babies at school, are no longer babies and are actually now young adults! Time is cruel!
Yesterday I saw some of my students and even some parents who recognized me on the street. We got to visit one of the newest hotels on the Paseo de Turistas and got to see the view from the 5th floor. It is beautiful and on a good sun set day I know where I will be! Unfortunately right now, the clouds typically roll in around 3 or 4pm which is actually a relief from the heat and sun! The hotel features some walls decorated with tile by one of my students, Oscar Tsay. His younger brother, Andres, is managing the restaurant and we laughed remembering how he called my dad marshmallow head!
Today after a lovely walk early on the beach, Apryl and I with Daniella and Claudia, we went to the Costa Rica Yacht Club where their family has a membership. This is the same pool Apryl first swam in when she was a newborn. Here we saw a huge iguana and about 5 different hummingbirds.
