We started with hanging out on the beach in Puntarenas, followed by a trip on a small fishing boat to Isla Tortuga. Remarkably, we met a young man from Rochester on this trip. And to top that coincidence we met another girl while on the island who was also from Rochester. 3 coincedences in one day is really remarkable!
Look on the next blogs for our trip to Manuel Antonio and the Baldi Hot Springs!
TRIP to ISLA TORTUGA
Injured Sea Turtle seen on our trip to the Island
Kid was totally unaware of the fish swimming next to her!
Star fish holding our hands!
One of the island natives shucking fresh oysters!
He found a baby lobster in an oyster from what I could gather from his native tongue explanation!
All these birds are 100% free and come to the perches to 'hang out' with visitors to the island, and in the evening return to their special trees on the island. They were so beautiful to see up close and listen to their squawking!
Banana Boat Fun with our friends from DC (young man was from Rochester)
This is Persephone, the islands wild boar who thinks she is a cat! She loves visitors giving her attention and from the island natives mouth she likes "guaro" which is the Costa Rican version of tequila / whiskey! I can barely choke it down, but apparently this boar loves it! She also loves to be scratched on her belly which will result in her flopping over, and loves to be buried by the sand. Apryl as you will see loved this darn thing!
Another coincidence in meeting the young girl in the pink bikini - from Rochester too!
